Leadership doesn’t happen at ground level; it requires lift. That’s the philosophy behind Leadership that Lifts, a high-impact collaboration between Sixth Wing, a human-centered leadership firm that builds trust, strengthens resilience, and drives performance, and AFN, the leading peer-to-peer executive network for dynamic leaders. Together, we’ve designed an experience that mirrors the flight experience: intentional preparation, transformational elevation, and a return to work with renewed clarity and purpose.

Morning Sessions
 • The Power Equation: Mastering Negotiation & Persuasion: 9:00 - 11:45 AM
At Sixth Wing, we believe negotiation is both a tactical discipline and a human-centered craft—an equation of preparation, clarity, and connection. This session equips you with the tools to approach any negotiation with confidence, focusing on interest-based strategies that build trust, align outcomes, and strengthen relationships. At the same time, we'll explore the companion skill to negotiation: persuasion. Most of us naturally try to persuade others using the language that convinces us; however, true influence begins with understanding what others need to hear. In this workshop, you'll be introduced to how we can persuade others based on their personality types and learn how to adapt your message to resonate with each.

Facilitated by Laura Maasdam

 • Command the Room: Present with Confidence & Communication: 9:00 - 11:45 AM
Confident communication isn’t just a skill; it’s a mindset. This session equips participants with tools to speak confidently and with conviction. From intentional preparation to mastering presence in the moment, you’ll learn how to get grounded, reduce filler words, and align your message with your nonverbal cues. You’ll explore the role of ego, stress, and clarity in shaping how you show up and how you’re received. Through practical techniques, guided exercises, and real-time feedback, you’ll walk away with the confidence to deliver your message in any room and the presence to make it stick.

Facilitated by Kellie Mix and John Previtera

Afternoon Sessions
 • The Edge of Resilience: 1:00 - 2:30 PM
Today’s high performers walk a tightrope between pressure and burnout. The Edge of Resilience equips leaders to recognize where they are on that line and how to shift it. This workshop introduces practical tools to assess burnout risk, reconnect with core motivators, and lead from a place of grounded energy.  Participants will explore how to identify early warning signs in themselves and others, utilize the GROW–PERFORM–SUSTAIN (GPS) model to assess their current balance, and adopt resilience practices that foster sustainable performance.

Facilitated by Kellie Mix and John Previtera

 • Next-Gen Coaching: Individual, Group & AI-Enhanced Growth: 1:00 - 2:30 PM
True leadership isn’t just about vision; it’s about unlocking potential in others. In this session, we’ll break down the purpose, process, and impact of coaching, giving participants a clear understanding of what it is, basic coaching skills for them to implement, and how to engage in coaching effectively. We’ll explore the power of group coaching, how it builds connection, drives deep learning, and fosters accountability using real-world models and use cases from communities like AFN. The session will also spotlight the evolving role of AI in executive coaching. We'll close with an open Q&A to help participants envision how coaching, both human and tech-enabled, can support growth across individuals and organizations.

Facilitated by Jessica Agnew and Bridget Ruiz

Leading When There’s No Playbook: 1:00 - 2:30 PM
One of the greatest leadership missteps is approaching complexity with a “fix it fast” mindset. When adaptive challenges are treated like technical problems, the result is wasted resources, drained teams, and solutions that fail to hold.

This 90-minute, hands-on workshop is built to shift that pattern. Together, we’ll unpack the core principles of adaptive leadership and apply them directly to the real challenges you’re facing today. You’ll leave with practical tools to quickly assess the true nature of a problem, separate technical from adaptive work, and deploy strategies that create lasting impact.

This isn’t abstract theory; it’s a practical, working session for leaders who need to navigate uncertainty with confidence, mobilize their teams, and design solutions that truly fit the complexity of the moment.

Facilitated by Tim Davisson and Corey Crisswell

This isn’t the end, it’s the beginning of what comes next. Whether you engage with Sixth Wing for team development, lean into new peer relationships, or apply what you’ve learned from the sessions, you’ll leave with tangible results. Momentum doesn’t dissipate. It compounds.
